TOPCON AT-B optical levels – the cost-effective solution for our customers!
“Since the announcement of the first optical spirit level, the AT model in 1961, Topcon has been a world leader in spirit level technology,” says Ian Stilgoe, Business Manager Surveying at Topcon Europe Positioning. “Since 1990, the previous AT-G series was a bestseller for more than two decades. And the AT-B series sets a new standard for optical levels used in surveying, engineering and construction applications.”
The AT-B series levels can focus objects 20 cm in front of the telescope, while previous models provided 50 cm or 1 m minimum focal length. “This greatly improves performance in confined spaces,” says Stilgoe.
The new AT-B series compensator has 4 strands manufactured from an extremely tensile-resistant metal, providing a minimum thermal coefficient of stretch, “The strength and accuracy is unsurpassed even in harsh operating conditions,” says Stilgoe. “The finely tuned magnetic damping system levels and stabilizes the string cross very quickly, despite the small vibrations present when working near heavy machinery or busy streets and highways.”
With protection class IPX6, the instrument is absolutely waterproof. The advanced design not only protects the instrument from water ingress, but also prevents condensation and fogging of the optics in the telescope.
“With the TOPCON AT-B series we have simplified the customer’s choice. The three models will satisfy the requirements of surveyors and engineers for use in open spaces and underground,” said Stilgoe.
Three models are available:
– TOPCON AT-B2: magnification 32x (optional – 40x ), accuracy 0.7mm/km (0.5mm with additional micrometer screw)
– TOPCON AT-B3: 28x, accuracy 1.5mm/km
– TOPCON AT-B4: 24x, accuracy 2.0mm/km
